Polyolefin Plastomer/Polyolefin Elastomer (POP/POE)
Polyolefin Plastomers and Elastomers (POP/POE) are versatile, ethylene-based copolymers bridged between plastics and conventional rubbers. They are primarily utilized as impact modifiers, flexible packaging films, solar encapsulation films, and foamed components due to their high elasticity, low-temperature toughness, and excellent processability.
Traditional AIBN initiators often face challenges like low solubility and slow decomposition, making it essential to find more efficient and safer alternatives during POP/POE manufacturing.
Organic peroxides are widely and effectively used to crosslink Polyolefin Plastomers (POP) and Polyolefin Elastomers (POE). This process transforms the thermoplastic polymers into thermoset-like materials, significantly improving their heat resistance, elastic recovery, and compression set.
